I’m going to talk a little about leather jackets; of all the guys I see, the item they almost invariably get wrong is the leather jacket. Many guys won’t even venture there, which is a real shame because a great leather jacket can make guys look awesome. The key to buying a leather jacket is to keep a clean and simple silhouette. Here are the three key areas to finding an ultracool leather jacket:
The Collar. Forget the zippered, oversized collars associated with biker jackets; stick to a turnover or stand-up collar for an understated, classic look.
The Pockets. There are some great 80s-inspired leather bomber jackets that can have up to four pockets on the front. For a sleek and sophisticated look (rather than a funky and fashion-forward one), look for pockets built in-seam or with zipper closures rather than a flap to reduce extra bulk to your frame.
The Fit. Leather has a sheen and looks best when it sits close to your body so, regardless of the style you choose, make sure it hugs your body comfortably. And, finally, don’t be a style snob- some of the best leather jackets are found in vintage shops.
