The Importance of Your Online Dating Profile

In last week’s article of online dating profile examples for men I outlined the key principles for a great online dating profile. Never underestimate the importance of your online dating profile: women love to examine these profiles in great detail before agreeing to go on a date or even replying to your messages.

It amazes me how many of our online dating clients don’t take the time to get their profiles spot on. Getting your online dating profile right is highly leveraged, because it’s going to be read by thousands of women and it’s the first chance you have to make an impression on them.

A brilliant profile really is your best friend when it comes to online dating. These three examples will help you get it right!

Online Dating Profile Example for Men – Example One

My name is Chris and I’m looking forward to giving this a go.

A little about me. I love music: I play the guitar badly, the drums terribly and the clarinet ok. I wish my parents had sent me to learn a cool instrument at the age of five. That way I’d get to tour in a rock band rather than play in clarinet concerts.

I tried the British Military Fitness stuff in Regent’s Park but I felt terrible for about a week afterwards. Now I prefer to keep fit with a more leisurely game of walk-around-the-museum and the odd snowboarding trip. I’m a big fan of candles: my current favourite shop is Selfridges but Mujis does great budget candles.

I’m pretty easy going but can be known to talk for a long time about not very much. In fact it’s probably only fair I list a few of my more significant flaws:

1. I don’t find children adorable.
2. I really like cleaning my house.
3. I am intolerable of mess.
4. I find going to gigs and live music an abomination.

Right, if you’re still here there are a few things that I look for in a girl. If any of this is you that’d be a huge plus:

1. I really like people who object to conformity for conformity’s sake.
2. I would like someone who enjoys getting very drunk on excellent spirits.
3. I like to set off from my house sometimes with no plan and to see where the wind takes me, so a willingness to do this would be perfect.

I look forward to hearing from you x

Online Dating Profile Example for Men – Example Two

I work super long hours in the city so I thought this would be a great way to meet someone outside of my normal circles (intense city women and friends from university).

If you’ve ever read that really w***y book City Boy then I’m a bit like that guy in terms of having no life outside of the City. I actually really like it! I’m sorry but I’m not one of those in-it-for-the-money city types; I love the thrust and the deals and when my job’s going well it feels like I’m at the centre of the world.

Outside of work I love to play sport (rugby on Saturdays with less verve than I’d like). I love to get out of the city at weekends to go walking. I’m not talking about a potter around; I mean a real leave-the-week-behind hike in the country! I also like going to new cities and I try to find time for a decent walk around Berlin or Amsterdam or Madrid every month or so.

I love getting out of bed every morning and I’d like to meet someone who also likes getting up every day. I don’t care what you do but you must be ambitious in your field (be it teaching, banking or making cakes) as I don’t like sloppiness. I think that if you’re going to get out of bed every day, the best way to live your life is to try your best!

If any of this sounds interesting then get in touch x

Online Dating Profile Example for Men – Example Three

My name is Paul and I’m a complete geek. I don’t just mean a pretend one. I mean a fully-fledged geek. Sometimes I find myself interested in something and I can’t believe how boring it is. I was in Waterstone’s the other day and I picked up a book on communist architecture and I read it for an hour.

I work at UCL doing a bit of reading and writing and occasionally embarrassing myself in front of very cool undergraduates. I’m a huge fan of pretentious films that are part-entertainment-part-puzzle and I love actual puzzles. In fact I probably spend about an hour a day looking at puzzles and drinking coffee.

I also like going to really run down pubs in dodgy parts of London and talking to the regulars. I have met some of the most interesting people I’ve ever met in these pubs. Only last week I met a guy who had been in the army for twenty-five years and I heard the most incredible stories from him.

If you’re intrigued by the world around you, enthralled by people outside of your normal circles and are not scared to disagree with me then get in touch x
